A common question among us mommy’s with a bun in the oven is when to plan your maternity photos. Such a touchy subject. Most of us feel like an over inflated beach ball and question whether or not its even a good idea. Well let me just say YES! Yes, its always a good idea. Maternity Photography is a beautiful way to look back on these memories before your little one arrives and are a way to show them where they came from! So, now for the big question, when should you plan your maternity photography session?

Every mother is different. Therefore, the answer may be different for you depending on your unique experience. For example, a Mother carrying twins may want to plan her maternity photos well before the recommended time frame. Your doctor may encourage tons of rest and maybe even bed rest. For these reasons, its best to take consideration of your individual well-being and really listen to your body.
The Best Time to Schedule Your Maternity Photography Session
Alright, now for the big reveal. When my lovely mom’s ask me the big pregnancy photo planning question ,I recommend planning our photo session between 30 and 36 weeks gestation. However, I do have mothers book well in advance of even that. It truly depends on your pregnancy and how much of a baby bump you got going on.
Now this awesome Momma planned her session at just the right time. Its important to focus on your needs and comfort. My BIGGEST tip is to be comfortable. No high heels or tight shoes! I will do the rest and make you look stunning.
