There is something magical about a newborn. They are all that embodies new life, joy and endless possibilities. Capturing your most cherished moments with your newborn baby is what I live for. Your photography session is focused around connection and the love between your family. This pure, abounding love is what I adore in my photography. I want to capture that connection between you and your baby so that you have that moment to forever look back on, preserved in the form of a timeless image.
YOUR NEWBORN PORTRAIT SESSION
Almost all of the portraits you will find in the Newborn Portfolio are in home sessions. I strongly recommend in home sessions as it allows families to be in the comforts of there own home. In home sessions are easy for all members of the family, especially for those with toddlers.
During your Newborn Session, I will provide everything we need to capture amazing newborn photos. All backdrops, props, and wraps will be provided. I encourage you to include any family heirlooms or other items that you would like to incorporate into your session as well.
Newborn portraits take place in the comforts of your home or you may come visit me at my studio upstairs from NDDA . During your newborn session, we take time to carefully prepare baby and allow for plenty of feedings and cuddles so that your little one is never under stress or discomfort.
In Home Sessions
I encourage parents to consider and in-home session simply for ease and comfort. Life with a new baby can be frantic and many components go into an outing. Therefore, an in-home session is a great way to capture amazing portraits of your baby and family while easily comforting and accommodating your baby’s needs. Comfort and care are important for the entire family. This is especially so for older siblings of the newborn. Toddlers tend to get tired and bored. When in an environment where they may step away and play in their own space or grab a snack, best sets the stage for a stress-free session and more opportunity for those darling sibling portraits with baby.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Newborn sessions typically last between 2-4 hours (average 2.5 hours) to allow for plenty of time to feed and snuggle. I will set up in a small area where temperature can be easily controlled to keep the space nice and warm for your newborn. Upon booking a prep guide will be sent to you with tips and tricks on how to prepare for session day. After that, just sit back and relax as I swoop in to capture magical moments!
Siblings and immediate family are welcome to join in during newborn sessions (including fur babies).
PROPS & SETS
An assortment of wraps and props will be available during your newborn session. Prior to your session day, we will discuss the details of your vision and color palette to ensure every moment is captured. Neutral earth-tones and various shades of soft colors are readily available from my collection. I encourage parents to convey their wishes as well and any specific shots desired.
YOUR FINAL GALLERY
After your Newborn Session I will choose the best images of the day for your final gallery. Each portrait is carefully hand edited one at a time to ensure the highest quality images make up your final gallery. A minimum total of 30 finished portraits will make up your final gallery. No RAW files or unedited images will be released.
In 3-4 weeks from your newborn session, you will receive access to your portraits via and online password protected gallery. A video tutorial will guide you through your gallery experience as well as how to download and purchase prints!
